On admission, each NCS student and parent will be issued a “Student and Parent Guide”. This clear-cut, comprehensive handbook outlines policies and procedures about academics, activities, athletics, conduct, dress code, attendance and grievance filings, among others.
In the event of an emergency closing or delayed start of school due to inclement weather, an announcement will be broadcast on Television Stations:
13 WVEC, 10 WAVY, 3 WTKR and Radio Stations: WTAR 850 AM, WNIS 790 AM & 2WD 101.3 FM. Television and radio stations are notified as close to 5:00 AM as possible. Information will also be posted on the Norfolk Christian Website and answering machine on the school’s primary phone number (423-5770) as soon as possible. Please note: We do not usually align ourselves with the Norfolk Public School system closings. If our school is not listed as closed or delayed, assume we are running our regular schedule. Since we serve families from across the Hampton Roads area, we urge parents to use their discretion in whether or not traveling from their area to NCS is safe. Any absence incurred due to their decision will always be excused.
