AMBASSADOR BOOSTER CLUB

“ Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown, that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not disqualified for the prize” (I Cor. 9:24-27, NIV)

Who are we?
The Ambassadors Booster Club is an organization dedicated to supporting Norfolk Christian School interscholastic athletics. We subscribe to the school’s Athletic philosophy as outlined in the Athletic handbook, specifically that participation in sports is an integral part of the students educational experience.

Mission
The mission of the Ambassador Booster Club is to support and enhance Norfolk Christian Schools' interscholastic athletic programs.

Purpose
As athletic boosters, we attend athletic events at home and away, cheer for our teams, praise their efforts, and encourage them through difficult seasons. We supplement the school’s athletic budget through our fundraising efforts to ensure that all sports teams in every season have the equipment and uniforms they need.

Fundraising
The concession stand on Main Street in the Upper School is our most visible source of fundraising dollars. Through the volunteer efforts of parents and high school students, we offer a welcoming word to visiting athletes and their fans, encouragement to our students, and a wide range of food and beverages at all home sporting events. A golf tournament to be held during the 2006-07 school year will provide additional support for our athletes. We also receive additional income from membership dues.

Our Past Support
Did you know that the Booster Club has supplied over $50,000 in financial support to NCS athletics in the past five years? We have helped pay the salary of our athletic trainer, purchased new uniforms for numerous girls’ and boys’ teams, bought wrestling mats, installed bleachers and team benches on the soccer field, and invested in much needed athletic equipment not provided for by the schools’ athletic budget. We pay for referees, sponsor hospitality rooms during tournaments, and subsidize specialized training for our varsity athletes. Since the 2000-01 school year, virtually every team at every level – from intramural to varsity – has benefited from Booster Club dollars.
