HOME SCHOOL

Welcome Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your interest in the Norfolk Christian Schools Homeschool Program.  We are excited to provide this program to the homeschooling community in the Tidewater area.

The program is intended for families with children already enrolled in Norfolk Christian Schools and for those who are not yet a part of our school community.  If you currently have students enrolled at Norfolk Christian and are interested in homeschooling a sibling, please fill out, sign and return the applicant portion of the Family Application for Homeschool Program, along with the Student Information Form.  You will not have to go through the complete admissions process.  Students in grades 6 – 12 are asked to fill out a separate Student Insights form and will be required to meet with either the middle school or high school principal.  Upper school courses (grades 6-12) may require testing to determine placement in the appropriate classes.

If you are new to Norfolk Christian, please fill out the Family Application for Homeschool Program in its entirety.  Return the application, along with copies of the following forms: Personal testimony form (to be completed by one or both parents); Pastoral Reference form; Record Release form; Student Information Form; and Student Insight Form (grades 6-12 only). You will be contacted by the Admissions Office to begin the process of admission into the school. If your child desires to take upper school courses (grades 6-12), they must meet with the high school principal or guidance counselor, by appointment.  Upper school courses may require testing to determine placement in the appropriate classes.  Because of our distinct philosophy of Christian education, it is important that students enrolled in our homeschool program and their families complete this process.  At the conclusion of the admission process you will meet with the lower school principal or with the upper school guidance department to discuss selection and placement in the appropriate courses.

Information concerning program options, services, activities, and fees is included in this packet.  If I can answer any questions or be of help to you in any way, please contact me at the numbers listed below.
