Serving Those Who Serve
Welcome to NCS
Welcome to Norfolk Christian! Whether you are navigating your first PCS move, or you’re an established Hampton Roads military family looking for a new educational home, we are honored to welcome you to our community. At NCS, we understand that military life often involves transitions and adjustments, especially regarding education. Since 1952, we’ve served numerous military families, and we appreciate and value their unique strengths and experiences. Military-connected students make up about 20% of our current student body.
Our team of Admissions and Academic Counselors, Fine Arts and Athletics Directors, and Parent-Teacher Fellowship members is standing by to answer your questions, connect you to other military families, and ensure a smooth transition to the NCS community.

We are at the heart of the Hampton Roads Military Community
Our proximity to the numerous Hampton Roads military installations allows us to serve Active Duty and Reserve Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, and Army families, as well as NATO families. Your children will be known and valued in our community!
Academic Considerations for Military Families
We understand that military children may have varied academic paths. As such, our counselors meet with all new families one-on-one to ensure their academic requirements. Our admissions practices allow students to transfer into Norfolk Christian throughout the year, reducing stress of mid-year PCS moves. Additionally, NCS students are well prepared to transfer to other schools throughout the nation and the worldwide DOD school system (DoDEA) if your family receives orders to transfer.
Guiding our students to the best place for them after Norfolk Christian isn’t a one-size-fits-all process; it’s many years of a caring and invested team helping them discover the setting where they will thrive – academically, socially, and spiritually. Learn more about our college counseling team.

Affording an NCS Education
We understand Christian education is an investment that may seem out of reach. This is why we aim to make Norfolk Christian accessible to as many qualified, mission-appropriate students as possible through our robust Financial Aid program. In recognition of our appreciation for military families, we are launching the Military Family Scholarship Fund for the 2025-2026 school year, wherein military families have the opportunity to apply for one of twenty $1000 scholarships, regardless of rank.

Testimonials
“We were able to navigate the enrollment process from the West Coast with ease. The NCS community was ready and excited to bring us into the folds of the Ambasador family even before we arrived! From having an assigned host family, to clear communications regarding class schedules, to sports teams waiting for our kids with open arms, NCS made us feel known well before the first day of school.”
“Although our time at NCS was brief due to a short tour, our two years here have been nothing short of extraordinary. Even with Dad being away for most of our time, the NCS community embraced and supported us in ways we had never experienced before. From preschool to the specials teachers and the dedicated administrative staff, everyone went above and beyond to ensure our girls felt loved and supported.
In moments of difficulty, they provided comfort, and in times of celebration, they rejoiced with us. If we ever have the opportunity to return, we will undoubtedly enroll our children once again to experience NCS’s exceptional blend of academia, athletics, and discipleship. We wholeheartedly recommend NCS to other families, as the school has left an indelible mark on our hearts.”
