Honoring a Life of Scientific Wonder and Devotion to Christ

In loving memory of Mrs. Anna Carter, affectionately known to generations of Norfolk Christian students as “Mrs. Chemistry Carter,” this endowed scholarship honors Anna’s extraordinary 32-year teaching legacy at Norfolk Christian High School. In our hallways, classrooms, and chapels, Mrs. Carter shaped countless young minds in the sciences of Chemistry and Biology—while modeling a life of intellectual integrity and faithful Christian witness.

A beloved teacher, mentor, and friend, Anna was passionate about helping her students see the wonder of God’s design in His creation. She inspired students not only to excel in their academic pursuits, but to approach scientific study as an act of worship—reflecting the spirit of Proverbs 25:2: “It is the glory of God to conceal things, but the glory of kings is to search things out.”

Through this scholarship, Anna’s love for teaching and her desire to foster curiosity, excellence, and faith in future generations will live on in the place to which she devoted so much of her life.
