SPORTS CAMPS

Youth Soccer Camp

This soccer camp will focus on individual skill development & boosting player confidence in a fun environment. Sessions will consist of dribbling, ball control, passing/shooting technique and basic game knowledge to help them be effective on the field.

Week: June 12 – 16

Baseball/Softball

Come out for skill development, team building, game knowledge, and lots of fun! Learn the basics from an experienced collegiate softball player, Coach Jazz, and players from both the Norfolk Christian softball team and baseball team! We can develop a foundation of skills to prepare you for high school competition! Whether it’s hitting, pitching, fielding, or just knowing the game, we’ve got you covered!

7v7 Flag Football

Our 2023 flag football camp will focus on individual skills and 7-on-7 play. Register as an individual free agent and you will be placed on a team. Each day will begin with individual skills and competition games, followed by league style 7-on-7 play. The final day of camp will consist of championship rounds for all competitions and 7-on-7 play.

Middle School Soccer Camp

This camp will focus on building individual talent and integrating those skills into group play. The goal of this camp is to prepare players for middle school and varsity level play.

PURSUE – FCA Girls Basketball Camp

Learn the basics and develop your basketball skills with our NCS Head Varsity Girls Coach.

Junior Ambassador Cheer Camp

Come learn the basics of cheerleading with our Varsity Cheerleaders! We will be playing games, making cheer crafts and teaching our future Ambassador Cheerleaders what it really means to be an Ambassador for Christ

FCA Coed Lacrosse Camp

Learn lacrosse basics such as catching, cradling, and scooping in this fun skill camp.  This is great preparation for campers who want to learn the game as well as those who want to take their skills to the next level in preparation for competitive play.

SPECIALTY CAMPS

Cake Decorating and Candy Making

**Only one spot remaining!**

This camp will focus on the basic cake decorating skills, such as borders, drop flowers, balloons, and silly string techniques and will learn how to ice and decorate cakes, cupcakes, cookie cakes and candy, and if time permits, Mason Jar cakes. Campers will learn safety around the kitchen while preparing to bake their cake or cookies. Campers will also learn that there is a science behind baking; what it is and how it works. Campers will take home delicious, decorated desserts as well as some supplies that they are able to take home to practice and/or show their family and friends what they have learned.

Explorations

Start your summer fun with Norfolk Christian on 5 super fun field trips with activities exploring the world around us! We will learn about the ocean, space, animals, nature and science. Field trips can include the Botanical Gardens, the Norfolk Zoo, First Landing State Park, the Aquarium or the Children’s Science Museum in Portsmouth!

Art Rocks!

Exploring music within the visual arts through action painting, collage, sculpture and more! In the Art Rocks camp we will present a combination of fun music and energetic art for a creative adventure. All week we will discover artists whose work is about both music and the musicians themselves. Campers will design and create musical instruments and will design and build a musical sculpture. These rock artists will create their own rock art, design paintings to music and try their hand at melodic action painting as they experiment with the use of music (classic, jazz, pop, hip hop) as inspiration for their own masterpieces.

Beginner Coding Camp

Coding is in a block programming language designed by
professors at MIT to teach computer programming to
elementary school students. Your students will learn how to
program games, animations and more! Using Scratch and
Code.org, we will produce projects on many different
subjects. For the robotics part of camp, we will be using
Ozobots. They are small robots that look a little like R2D2
from Star Wars. Campers will program the Ozobots using
color coding and computer coding. They will program them
to turn, speed up, slow down, spin, skate, talk, play piano
notes and many other cool moves. If your student is
interested at all in technology, they will love this camp.

Castles, Crowns, and Catapults

Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Calling all Knights and Ladies to this historical camp to experience life in the Middle Ages. Participants will learn about this fascinating era through stories, games, hands-on creative projects, and fun activities.

Dr. Seuss and the STEM Days of Summer

“Step into the Seussical world of stem. It’s mystical, magical and arithmetical. You’ll meet the Whos of Whoville and the Lorax too. We’re only missing one thing: the Seussical you!” In this camp, we will explore the world of Dr. Seuss while simultaneously conducting STEM-based experiments that coincide with Seuss’s works.

Beginner Hand Sewing Class

This class focuses on the fun of learning a new skill and enjoying the creative process!   Participants will learn the basics of hand sewing and embroidery, then will design and sew their own plush felt figures.
