Lindsay Ingraham, M.S, M.S.Ed.
Athletic Director
Lindsay joined Norfolk Christian’s athletic staff in 2012 and served as an Athletic Trainer for one year before becoming Assistant Athletic Director in 2013 and then Athletic Director in 2024. In addition to her AD role, she teaches Anatomy & Physiology in our High School. Lindsay holds a B.S. in Exercise Science from Old Dominion University as well as an M.S.Ed. in Athletic Training from Virginia Commonwealth and an M.S. in Sports Management from Liberty University. She is certified by the Athletic Training Board of Certification and licensed through the Virginia Board of Medicine.
Lindsay still works to keep athletes safe and help them recover from injuries. But her favorite part of the job is helping students grow into great men and women through the platform of sports.
Matt McDonald
Assistant Athletic Director
Coach McDonald is the dad of one NCS Upper School student and one NCS Alumni. After two years as a member of the Upper School teaching staff, he joined the Athletic Department in 2024. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 2022 after more than 23 years of service. Matt played baseball and football for Catholic University in Washington, DC and coached a variety of sports between deployments over the years. At NCS, he has coached several Middle School and JV teams and now serves as our Head Varsity Baseball Coach. He is also a referee with Hampton Roads Basketball Officials Association and an umpire with Eastern Officials Association.
In 2023, Coach McDonald had the privilege of chaperoning our mission trip to Buff Bay, Jamaica and also started a Fellowship of Christian Athletes Huddle at NCS with Amy Purcell where they both serve as co-huddle leaders. He and his family are active at Grace Bible Church in Virginia Beach.
Lindsay Shaffer
Assistant Athletic Director
Coach Shaffer is a long time resident of Norfolk who participated in a variety of youth sports, with soccer being his favorite. After graduating from Maury High School, he accepted an appointment to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), where he played Varsity soccer and earned letterman honors. After two years in New London, he finished his education at the University of Mary Washington.
Returning to Norfolk in 2013, Coach Shaffer coached soccer for Maury High and later served as the Assistant Coach for Regent University. In 2020, he joined the NCS coaching staff as an Assistant Coach for the Boys Soccer team, then returned in the summer of 2023 to become our Boys and Girls Head Varsity Soccer Coach. Lindsay has also served as the Hard Lines Manager for our Athletic Department over the last year.
Coach Shaffer and his wife have two children at NCS and attend Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church. In his free time, Lindsay enjoys watching his kids play sports and spending time with his family.
